Known Background: Bert Dempsey had it all: looks, money, frequent sex, and no nagging STDs despite his frequent liaisons. Then he met Morlaina and his sexual antics pissed her off. And, unfortunately for Bert, Morlaina was also the lycanthrope queen Panthenon. And she had just the thing to teach Bert a lesson. Because he worried so much about using his nutsack, she turned him into a were-squirrel.
The thing was, Bert was still a man of means, and he was only in squirrel-form a few nights a month. He used his wealth to seek out help. He found it in the form of Professor Moebius, in Tibet. Moebius could not cure the lycanthropy, but he helped Bert gain a level of control over it. Instead of turning into a squirrel, he now turned into a six-foot tall squirrel-man. It was about this time that Dragon and Morning Star had first come to Tibet and had met Mo Fortanchu on their way to finding Professor Moebius. Bert Dempsey returned to the United States with the Champions of Justice. He dabbled with becoming a part time crime-fighter, using his were-squirrel abilities.
However, it was not long after that meeting that Bert's youngest daughter, Suzanne, encountered the vampire Chakana. Having been turned by the vampire, she returned the favor to her father. Bert Dempsey was now a lycanthropic vampire squirrel, and all of his fledgling heroic leanings went out the proverbial window. When he next encountered the Champions of Justice, it was as their enemy. It was also the last time he encountered them, because while the Champions of Justice tend to be merciful and understanding with lycanthropes (at least the ones who try to behave), they tend to destroy vampires, quickly and efficiently.
Bert Dempsey got better. The mixture of vampire and lycanthropic magic allowed him to return from having his body destroyed by a human solar engine. Having control of his form, he adopted human form. He went to a motorcycle dealer, bought a Japanese-made motorcycle and disappeared into the back roads of America, sustaining himself on a diet of nuts and berries, supplemented with human blood. And he took a liking to his 'giant squirrel' form.
Then came the day he met the Evicted Demonz. They wanted to make quick work of him, but Dempsey challenged Overkill to a one-on-one match. The match ended in a draw, and Dempsey proved that he was psychotic enough to fit in. He was invited to join - despite his insistence on riding a "rice-rocket."
Squirrel was created and designed by Jack Aydelott. The villainous edits are Ken Hallaron's handiwork. He is an NPC.
