Complications:
Asexuality - Sandra has taken a vow of celibacy, not for any religious reasons, but because she has no interest in those aspects of life. As such, she is occasionally ridiculed by her family for not continuing the family line.
Avoiding Persecution - The Consilium de Lumine is a secret organization who goes out of their way to stay out of the public consciousness.
Legacy - Sandra's family has served as members of the Consilium de Lumine for generations, spanning back centuries.
Names Have Power In Magic - Using a person's full name is evidence of a level of personal knowledge, and knowledge is power. If a mage uses a person's given name in conjunction with a spell, it will have a stronger effect, depending on how intimate that knowledge is. This is why most magic-users keep their identities a closely-guarded secret. If the mage has read the full name somewhere (personal records, internet, etc.), the attack gains a +2 effect. If they have heard the full name spoken, they get a +5. And if they have heard the person speak the name from their own mouth, +10 effect is applied.
Relationships - Sandra has family in the superhero community, though neither side knows it. Her grandmother's sister, Grace Wilson, was a heroine during World War II. Grace's grandson is Emerald Knight.
This Is The Way - The Consilium de Lumine mages hold to a strict code of what magic is and is not allowed. Quentan holds to that code.
Enemy - The mage knights are sworn to protect mankind from those that would weild magic for evil purposes, including, but not limited to, the Followers of Germanicus.
