The members of Lambda Force were never intended to have the lives they now lead. They were to lead normal lives with normal families, save from the trials and tribulations of the parahuman lifestyle. This wasn’t the case in every dimension, however. When a parallel earth split off from this one, each person developed powers and abilities to fill a role in this new world, because nature abhors a vacuum. When that dimension got woven back into this one, however, their normal lives were restored. This is, until the unhinged time-traveler Timefire decided that, in order to recreate that parallel earth, he needed to travel back in time and make these people in their parallel image.

So, years after aiding Timefire in trying to kidnap Joe Chillin before he could stop World War III, they have finally escaped prison and are trying to make a new place for themselves. The damage done to them have made them all villains, but that doesn’t stop them from hating Timefire, the Champions of Justice, and the whole dimension in general.
