Complications:
Cold-Hearted - In partiularly warm climates, Tyqon becomes particularly uncomfortable.
Cultural Outsider - Being one of the Eniyuuhusqis from the Northern lands, Tyqon is perceived as being an uncultured brute.
Familial Estrangement - His parents' support of Tuqiq & Heather has left Ty feeling estranged from his family.
Mistrusting of Women - "Heather, why can't you just be a friend? Why do you have to be such a mega-bitch?" (Heathers, 1989) - The situation with Heather de Lorian has left Ty particularly distrustful of most women.
Poor Babysitter - Being around young children makes Ty uncomfortable, as they remind him of his very complicated relationship with his nephew/son.

Background: Tyqon of the Roqa clan (or Tyqon de Roqa in their specific dialect) is his parents' second son. The Roqa are a clan of the Eniyuuhusqi (the peoples of the northern realm of the North Continent of Mortan). They are snamherds; they herd, raise, care for, sell, rent, shear, and essentially provide veterinary service of snamels (snow camels). This is a nomadic existence, both due to the snamels shifting grazing areas, but also because of having to bring the snamels around to the other clans of the Eniyuuhusqi to sell.

Tyqon's older brother, Tudiq, is by the customs of the Eniyuuhusqi, the designated heir. When their father dies, Tudiq will become head of the clan. When the time comes, Tudiq, in theory, could split the herd and let Tyqon start his own branch of the business/clan. However, given the brothers' falling out of the amorous attentions of Heather de Lorian (who is now Tudiq's wife) this is not likely.

Tyqon had worked the herds since he was eight. He is accustomed to the long nights of the northern realm, and, while guarding the herd, has gone weeks before returning to the warmth of the camp (but not necessarily from the warmth of Heather de Lorian, back when she was single... if you know what I mean.) Guarding the herds has meant that Tyqon has fought both wild animals and snamel raiders.

The promise of a reward has brought Tyqon south. Though he may be denied a portion of the family's herd, someday, purchasing a portion of the herd from his father, while his father still lives, is something Tudiq won't be able to stop.
