Known Background: Lynda Kennedy had a post at the Lincoln Park Zoo, in Chicago, waiting for her as soon as she finished her post-graduate work in zoology. As part of her work, she was doing field work in eastern India, tending to wide variety of animals found there. One evening, as she was tending an elephant, she and her patient were starteled by a krait. She was bitten, and the panicked elephant ran off into the jungle, dragging her with him by her canteen strap.
She wasn't found in the initial search, though the darkness, the dangerous fauna, and an encroaching thunderstorm kept it from being thorough. Her counselor and other team members were prepared to giver her up for dead. They were surprised the next morning when a white tiger dragged her back to the camp. They were surprised by both the tiger's docileness, and by Lynda lacking any serious injury, or signs of unmetabolised venom in her body. Having lost consciousness during the elephant's charge, and not regaining it until back at camp, she could provide no answers.
The tiger would not leave her side, and arrangements were made to have the tiger brought to America with her. The zoo was excited to get a white tiger when she took her position a few months later. It was some time after that she discovered her powers; her ability to take on the abilities of animals. And then, she took on the adventuring identity of Animus, and was a charter member of the Windy City Defenders, and became the co-leader of the Windy City Warriors after that.
Animus was created, designed and played by Lynda Doner. The character is deceased in the present campaign timeframe.
