Complications:
Responsibility - As Arthur's mentor and friend who was not there for him in his greatest hour of need, Arcanum feels responsible for protecting the realm and ideal of Camelot.

Notes: 
Similar to the spell cast by Merlin on the forces of Delfan, so Morgainne of the
 Fey turned it on Merlin, casting him for eternity into the Crystal Cavern; an
 alternate dimension beyond our own. But it was not the end for Merlin. In modern
 day, he calls himself Doctor Arcanum and acts as advisor to British superheroes
 that are willing to listen to him, including The Pendragons. While those who are
 trained by Doctor Arcanum (Valiant and Ravenclaw) are able to come and go as
 they please, the Doctor is trapped inside this crystalline prison with avatars
 as his only link to the outside world.

Dr. Arcanum was adapted by Jim Caswell, based on the character Dr. Gregory Kulik from the 4th Edition "Champions in 3D" sourcebook. He is an NPC.
