The Dark Duo were a pair of assassains who have Darkforce powers. Someone had released a top-secret government document about how to access the Underdark, and the pair had found it, and used the information to gain their powers. It is unclear, at this time, if the pair had been criminals prior to gaining their powers. They haven't had much success so far; that's why they recruited some more friends.... and blew up their machine in the process.
