CITIZENS AGAINST SUPER HEROES
Created by: Jim Caswell
A few years ago, a group of concerned citizens got together in Washington D.C. to protest the expansion of the D.C. Defenders in the country's capital, fearing that their presence would draw, rather than discourage, superhumans of the nefarious kind to come to the city. While their protests were, ultimately, just a nuisance, their investigations into Mindmeld led to the uncovering of his secret identity and charges brought against him for insider trading, leading to him retiring and going into isolation.
The Citizens Against Super Heroes have recently resurfaced in Las Vegas, protesting against the presence of Strikeforce as part of law enforcement within the city and their use of parahumans as consultants, once again arguing that their presence will serve to aggravate rather than alleviate villain activity. This group has received publicity through the local news (with local newswoman Judith Marie Cortez-Benevidez providing most of the coverage), as well as having received large financial donations to their cause.
