When the United States began its Parahuman Soldier program over two decades ago, many other countries thought they needed to do the same. One of these nations was Japan. They currently have two governmental groups that have drafted the members to protect the nation, but unlike their Chinese counterparts, they have embraced several of the motifs of parahuman society elsewhere on the planet. While paras are encouraged to work for the government, it is not manditory for all, though the ones that recieved their abilities from the government sponsors are required to serve or are considered traitors.
