When members of the original Freedom Force decided to make Project: Eclipse public, the people in charge decided to put together a new team, which had the dual purpose of portraying government-sanctioned heroes in a positive light, as well as humiliate Eclipse. They failed on both accounts. After it became apparent that Freedom Force II was a failure, the group was disbanded and, over the next few months, each member was declared deceased.
