Complications:
Cultural Outsider - Being born in the North, and then raised in the hidden realm, Devin is often confused by local customs and traditions.
Prejudice - Many believe that those who use blood as the focus for magic are evil. In spite of their desire to rid the world of monsters, the Blood Hunter is often seen as monsterous themselves.

Background: As a young boy Devin was the only survivor of his tribe that was attacked by a variety of horrendous monsters. As he wandered the Eastern area of The North, boiling with rage and at the brink of death, Devin was found by his mentor, teacher, and master -- Lander from the secret Order of the Profane Soul, a centuries old band of Blood Hunters, formed during the second reign of man. He was taken to a hidden realm, unknown, by and large, by the rest of the world of Mortan.

Devin was adept at Hemocraft because of a desire to destroy all monsters and evil in the world. It drove his willingness to do anything required of him to gain the highest level of power in Hemocraft. He became a master of all forms of combat and weaponry but took a particular liking to ranged weapons as it gave him the distance he needed to maximize the use of his magic.

Once his training was complete, he was sent by the Order as of right of passage to explore the world and take on any danger that came into his path in order to become stronger. Before his journey, he was given a grimoire containing the secrets of hemocraft and his order, although, due to strong blood magic, he could only understand the incantations, sigils, and instructions when he was strong enough to learn them. He could only return to the realm once he had “conquered death and would age no more.”
