Complications:
Enemy - Hexman hates all other mages, wanting to eliminate them, but none moreso than Lady Fortanchu, the daughter of his former master, though he wants to save her defeat for last.
Man Out of Time - After spending the better part of a century in another dimension, Chuck is unaware of a lot of the culture and history of modern day. As such, he can sometimes be caught unaware by the mundane.
Known Background: As a pilot during the Great War, Chuck Stevens was stationed in India and was one of the ones responsible for flying reconisence in the area. He was happy for this assignment, primarily because it did much to keep him out of direct combat. On one such mission, he found himself testing the limits and flying through the Himalaya Mountains when his engines went out. Barely escaping the crash with his life, he found himself stranded in the Himalaya Mountains.
Four days later, on the brink of death, Chuck was found by a pack of snow ninjas, who brought him back to their master for judgement. Seeing the potential magic within him, Lord Fortanchu had him nursed back to life and took him on as an apprentice. He was a cruel master, but Stevens learned what he was taught and made great strides in mastering the dark arts, so much so that Lord Fortanchu became worried that the pupil might overtake the master. Then one evening, after Fortanchu learned of the impending arrival of his wife's pregnancy, he summoned Chuck to his side and, using his name against him, banished Stevens into a neatherealm. why he didn't kill him outright would be a question Stevens would be asking himself forever.
Trapped in the other realm for three decades, Stevens continued to teach himself how to tap into the magic around him, searching for a way to escape and reap his vengence. Finally, he was able to break free, only to learn that Lord Fortanchu had been killed by another. His daughter ruled in his place, more powerful than her father. But, worst of all, Stevens learned that the magicweilders of the world had grown significantly in number. Certain that magic was too great a power for so many to use, he vowed to begin wiping out their numbers, working his way up to the daughter of his old master and taking her throne for his own.
