Known Background: Alan grew up admiring his older brother Will, who was a New Mexico US Marshal working in Witness Protection. He was happily married with a child on the way when he and Alan were grabbed by drug dealers. They were looking for a runner who had turned state's evidence and taken into WPS by Will. When they couldn't get the marshal to talk, they began working over his younger brother, eventually dripping boric acid into his eyes. The burns destroyed the young man's retinas and the pain was enough to trigger something in his brain; a genetic abnormality that eventually allowed him to develop a sixth sense. None of this helped his brother, however, who was shot through the head when it was clear nothing would make him talk. His fellow marshals arrived seconds too late, gunning down the dealers before they could finish the job.
Alan and his sister-in-law worked together to help him adjust to his blindness (keeping his enhanced senses a secret in the process), bring Will's daughter into the world and put him through college. He became a very successful defense lawyer, charging large sums of money to defend anyone, but using the knowledge gained through defending them to become their judge, jury and executioner when needed. To cover his tracks, he created the alter ego of the vigilante Blind Justice.
Personality: Alan idolized his big brother and wanted to be just like him when he grew up. But he never got the chance; a fact that he is still bitter about to this day. Becoming a lawyer was his way of making sure that the innocent were defended while using the confidence of the real bad guys to learn the truth. The only way for the court system to save them from his Blind Justice is to actually beat him in court and put them away where he can't get to them. But either way, they will pay for their crimes. He knows that its not the type of justice his brother would approve of, but it's the type they deserve.
Powers/Tactics: Before he died, Will made sure that Alan knew how to protect himself, both through the art of boxing and the use of firearms. With the loss of his eyesight and the onset of his sixth sense, he found that his fighting skills were also enhanced, almost able to predict what was going to happen. With the money he earned defending the bad guys, he purchased more tools to use as Blind Justice, including a sky cycle piloted by an artificial intelligence to be his faithful steed, Gold-trotter.
Appearance: Alan Miller stands 6'2 and weighs 210 lbs. of well-toned muscle from active workouts and boxing. His eyes were once sky blue, but the acid has turned them a pale gray with red streaks from damaged blood vessels. Blind Justice wears a solid red mask that covers his damaged eyes, but allows people to believe his is able to see through it thanks to his sixth sense. He wears the colors of America because he truly believes in the judicial system (he often hopes to be beaten in court so the villains get punished without him having to mete out the justice).
Blind Justice was created and designed by Jim Caswell. He is an NPC.
