Stranger In A Strange Land - Aerekles was a space explorer who was left behind, believed to be dead, by his own people, the Vrohpmi. That was nearly 2000 years ago. He was trapped in Herculaneum (in what is now Italy) when Mt. Vesuvius erupted in 79 A.D.
Arrogant Madman - Aerekles was a Vrohpmi chauvenist when visiting Earth, then, and 1900+ years of confinement didn't mellow him. In fact, he went a little nuts.
Prisoner - Aerekles has been inprisoned by Project: Titan since he last worked with the Champions of Justice.

Background: There was an unforeseen, and as yet unexplained reaction between the super-heated ash and lava that interacted with Aerekles make-up that turned him from a biological being, albeit one that could process energy, and transformed him into a being of rock.
